How Helping Hands Insurance Started

About Me

Who I am:

My name is Hayley Rogers. I am a Georgia girl and graduated from the University of North Georgia with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication in 2018. I got into the health insurance business in 2023 and started out as just a captive agent. Soon after, I realized I wanted to become an insurance broker so I can work for my clients rather than working for a company. In 2024, I started Helping Hands Insurance, which is my own personal brokerage.

What I do:

When I have a consultation with a client, I find it very important to take the time to understand what their needs and priorities are when it comes to their health insurance. Taking that information into consideration, I fit all of the puzzle pieces of an insurance plan together to build the best possible health insurance plan. Navigating health insurance can be very complicated and even sometimes sound like another language. I believe in complete transparency when it comes to communicating with my clients, so I take the time to educate my clients. I break down each specific potential plan for my clients, pointing out the pros and cons of each.

When I am available:

I am available regular business hours. However, I also understand people are busy during the day, especially those running small businesses. Because of that, I also offer weekend and evening appointments. I can be flexible around your schedule.

Where I can help:

I currently hold a Life and Health Insurance License in my home state of Georgia and I also hold licenses in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, Texas, Maryland, Delaware, Kansas, and South Dakota. If you need help and do not live in one of these states, still reach out to me. If I cannot help you, I can get you in contact with someone who can.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I only change my health insurance plan during Open Enrollment (November 1st-January 15th)?

No. Private health insurance plans have no SEP (Special Enrollment Period) or Open Enrollment so they are available year round. However, plans on the healthcare Marketplace can only be changed during Open Enrollment or a Special Enrollment Period.

What is a Special Enrollment Period (SEP)?

A SEP is a time of the year outside Open Enrollment when you are eligible to sign up for a plan on the health insurance Marketplace. Typically SEPs are based on changes in specific life events. For example, losing health coverage, moving, having a baby, getting divorced, or any other change in the household usually qualifies someone for a SEP.

Am I subject to a financial penalty if I am uninsured?

No. The Federal penalty for being uninsured ( aka the "Shared Responsibility Mandate") was ended in 2018. You will not get penalized by the Federal Government for being uninsured.

Do I have to keep the insurance offered through my employer, even if I do not like it?

Absolutely not! If there is a private plan option you like more than your employer insurance, usually it's just as simple as sending a "Certificate of Insurance" to your employer's benefits department.

I have a doctor I have seen for years that I know and trust. If I change health insurance plans, will I still be able to see them?

Of course! Just make sure to mention that to your agent/broker and they can make sure to pick a plan that has your doctor in-network.

How long can my child stay on my insurance?

According to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), your child may stay on your health insurance plan until they turn 26. This may vary by a year or two depending on your state so make sure to check your state's specific requirements.

I am not affiliated directly with the Health Insurance Marketplace. I am a Licensed independent agent broker. NPN: 21054458. Terms
